A Legacy of Transformation and Unity
The name KOTU is simple, yet profound.
It stands for “King of the Universe,” the English expression of the Hebrew phrase “Melech HaOlam.” מלך העולם
Those words took on a life of their own after the success of what became known as the Melech HaOlam Project—a prophetic experience that revealed the immense power hidden in something as small as the way we speak our blessings. That project left a mark on tens of thousands of lives and awakened the realization that when we refine ourselves, even in the smallest ways, Heaven responds.
From that realization, the idea of a living centre—a place where people could gather, learn, grow, and discover truth together—began to take form.
In 2012, the KOTU Centre wasn’t created through buildings or budgets.
It began with a simple home on Betzalel Street in Nachlaot, Jerusalem.
What started as my personal residence very quickly transformed into a beating heart of community and connection. People found their way through the doors every week—students, travelers, seekers, neighbors, rabbis, families—each one drawn by something they couldn’t explain in words.
Week after week, the Shabbat table was set for twenty to twenty-five guests, with home-cooked meals and long, genuine conversations that lasted deep into the night. Torah, laughter, singing, blessings, advice, friendship—it all mixed together naturally.
The KOTU Centre didn’t operate like an institution. It felt like a family.
Every Sunday night, the sound of learning filled the space.
The living room became a small beit midrash.
Rabbi Meir Elkabas led deep journeys into Likutey Moharan, and people came from across Jerusalem—and far beyond—to hear, to ask, to grow.
Over the years, the Centre hosted respected Torah teachers, among them:
These weren’t lectures. They were encounters—moments that ignited passion, expanded understanding, and inspired change. Thousands of visitors passed through those doors, and with them came stories of transformation.
Within those walls, lives intertwined.
Three couples met at the Shabbat table and later married.
Friendships formed that still continue today.
For many people, the KOTU Centre became their first spiritual home in Israel, a place where the search for truth felt safe, alive, and personal.
People who spent evenings there often describe it the same way:
“Something happened here that I can’t explain.”
For nearly a decade, the KOTU Centre served as a sanctuary in the heart of Jerusalem—a place to encounter Torah in its deepest expression, and to discover the inner wisdom waiting inside each of us.
There were no sponsors, no donors, no advertisements.
Every meal, every class, every moment was self-funded, driven only by the belief that when people gather in truth and sincerity, something divine awakens.
Then, in 2021, a series of tragic events brought this chapter to an unexpected close. The doors fell silent, the table empty, the walls still—but the calling behind the Centre never disappeared.
Today, the KOTU Centre is being reborn—not as a home, but as a purpose-built sanctuary for Truth, Healing, and Wellness.
It is a place for people to restore their lives, to discover the truth about their bodies and their souls, and to experience the kind of care that is both deeply natural and deeply spiritual.
The New KOTU Centre will bring together everything that made the original Centre alive—warmth, sincerity, Torah, unity—and expand it into a transformational healing environment.
Here, a person can come for 30 days and be guided through a complete process of support:
The KOTU Centre exists for those who have been told:
“There’s nothing more we can do.”
It exists for those who have been sent home without answers.
It exists for those who want to live—and are searching for the path back to health.
The medical world is often built around managing disease, not restoring life.
Here, the intention is different:
to give people back their future—using every practical method that works, combined with the ancient knowledge of Torah wisdom and the belief that healing is always possible.
This Centre should never be the last option.
It should be the first.
Here, people will be seen as whole—not as diagnoses.
Here, every part of a person matters—body, mind, and soul.
We are simply the facilitators to begin the healing process.
The Creator does the rest.
The rebirth of the KOTU Centre is a living vision—one that can only come to life through the support of people who believe in helping others rediscover hope, strength, and healing.

My five stars are well earned!
The KOTU Center brought a lot of people together around the joy of Shabbat. I have a lot of fond memories of those days, like the time that... well, you know... Forget it. You had to be there, and if you want to be there, the KOTU center has to be there first. So support the KOTU center by rating and reviewing, participating, and donating your time and your treasure if requested!
Zerach is an inspiring host. I've enjoyed his Shabbat meals for many years. The classes featured renowned rabbis and were very well organized, recorded for later review, and in a pleasant environment.
The KOTU Centre holds a truly special place in my heart. It was within these walls that my wife and I found each other at Zerach's warm Shabbat table. Attending the classes was an absolute delight, every moment a treasure trove of learning and growth. Zerach's dedication was unwavering, his words of Torah ignited the spirits of thousands who shared in his meals. These gatherings, open to all without exception, provided solace and connection. I recall meals with as many as 30 guests, each one leaving a lasting memory. The absence of the KOTU Centre is deeply felt in Jerusalem, and I earnestly hope for its revival, for it fills a void that yearns to be embraced once more.
Zerach is a respectful ,caring and a very kind-hearted person. Easy to communicate with and very hospitable, during the time I spent at the KOTU center, it was evident the efforts that were put in to always be very mindful of the guests,
I look forward to visiting other events at the KOTU center and I truly wish Zerach all the best!
